Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened
This is the email that I have sent to my colleagues who, alongside myself, have been affected by the recent restructuring of the company due to self explaining circumstances.
"I am really not good at all at writing these emails and so I will keep it short and sweet.
Every kick in the ass is a step forward – old Romanian saying – actually I am not sure how old it is but it is very appropriate for the situation. We all are very passionate about what we do. We have had our fair share of challenges and we all know that it was not all roses and strawberry fields all the time. But it was fun and you are the best people anyone could ever hope to work with – and I have worked with some really talented people in my career.
It is crazy how, looking back, we managed to keep our clients happy when they should have kicked us to the curb a long time ago, managed to do so much with so few resources and solved issues that seemed unsolvable. We should all be proud of ourselves and use these challenges and lessons to market ourselves out there as the people who will make something out of nothing and the people who any company should want on their team and not the competitions’.
In the words of Dr. Seuss - Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened!"
