Don't it complicated
Life, don’t make it complicated. Relationships, don’t make them complicated. Your own self, don’t make it complicated. While life is a spiral, a complex cobweb of infinite events that keep testing us, I must say that life is only as complicated as you make it. It does sound silly, but its true. While life does throw unavoidable challenges our way, if we look at the bigger picture, most of the complexities that haunt us in life are self-created. But why would anyone want to do that??
As humans, are constantly pushed to do better, to take up challenges and to keep moving forward. We are told that until and unless we don’t keep up with the world, we will be nobody. We should have a know-how of everything going on around us, to store more (unnecessary) information than our brain is capable of accommodating. And after overworking our brain and our body, we take trips to the mountains and the beaches to detox, calm our minds and search our soul. If you think about it, in today’s world, we operate pretty much like a machine. Chasing a goal ruthlessly, no matter the wear and tear our mind and body goes through. Taking time off only on certain days, which is like a maintenance period. When there is a breakdown in any part of our body, the entire factory of our life come to a rather expensive halt. But it needn’t be that way, right?
It is important to feel the emotions you’re going through; you should not put them behind to not get diverted from your ambitious goals. You need to create a balance in your every day life to take time off to keep in touch with yourself. You need to keep a check on your body daily so that it shouldn’t have to wait for an emergency shut down. These choices are ours to make and the world won’t come to end if we choose them. If anything, one life on earth will become better, yours.

While there will always be stressful moments in life, or unexpected occurrences, we can set some expectations for ourselves, can’t we? We don’t have to solve every problem, we don’t have to deep dive into every situation, we don’t have to say yes to helping others all the time, we don’t have explain every action, every move, all the time. It’s all good to chase your dreams, reach your goals, but one must also consider the opportunity cost for that. What are you missing out? Is it worth it? The one-time glory of winning a race, the one-time happiness of achieving your goals, is all that worth giving up on the present moments of your life?
Have you ever realized that when you have a bad day at work, a couple of drinks and chat with friends usually makes us put the day behind us and move on? However, when you have had a fight or even a mere argument with someone you love, when you lose a precious gift given by your partner, when your pet isn’t well, it affects you much deeply. Let alone a drink, you often forget to even drink water that day. Why? Because these things are actually so much more valuable to you. Every other thing that seemed so complicated earlier, seems so trivial then.
My point is, focus on the things that matter to your heart, not just to your brain. Other things will come and go, no matter how many difficult matters we solve in life, they will keep coming. Its about how we perceive a situation. And while life is short and unpredictable, let’s try to feel and live for the valuable moments rather than complicating our life with the ones which will seem like just a waste of time a few days later. Life does not give us any brownie points if we live it in a complicated manner and nobody is keeping score.?
