?? Revolutionizing Job Boards: Skills-First, Bias-Free, Open Source ??

We’ve all seen how traditional job boards often miss the mark—emphasizing years of experience or specific tools over actual skills and capabilities. That’s why I’ve started an open-source project to tackle these issues head-on.

The Universal Job Board

Our mission is to create a platform that:

• Focuses on core skills and design patterns rather than specific tools like AWS, React, or Kubernetes.
• Removes bias by eliminating unnecessary details like dates that can enable ageism.
• Standardizes job and applicant data with robust GraphQL schemas, enabling seamless integration and better matching.
• Provides transparency by working directly with job posters—no middlemen.

Principles in Action

We’re building an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) that follows these same principles:

• Skill-based matching to prioritize potential over credentials.
• Clear and transparent workflows for applicants.
• Analytics to help hiring managers identify skill gaps and make informed decisions.
