Don't come crying to me when you f$#! up Black Friday ??

“We f***ed it for ourselves. We f***ed it for retailers, by training the consumer to wait for the sales.” An Australian retailer.

That quote amused me more than it should have in the research report by the Dr J's. Not only did it amuse me, it actually gave me hope. Now that we knew we had created a rod for our own back, surely we'd start pulling these promotions back? Or at least be smarter with more targeted promotions?

Well, it's the first week of November and my hope is hanging on like a toddler's Christmas tree decoration.?

Nasty Gal already has 55% off EVERYTHING - 60% if you use the app.?Sheet Society has launched 20-60% of EVERYTHING. Muscle Nation is taking 50% off EVERYTHING - launching this week. The Ordinary has 23% off EVERYTHING for all of November. Nick Scali is heavily promoting a whole Black NOVEMBER.

I expected some of these brands to be more selective with their promotions - and how they train their customers. They're the first this year. They won't be the last. Let's hope they don't f*** it for themselves... and other retailers.

Cheers, Bushy
