Sakura Kokumai, a karate champion slated to represent the United States in the 2021 Olympic Games, was verbally attacked with racial slurs in California. It happened in broad daylight: many bystanders recorded with their phones, but no one came forward to help.
Judging from the video, Sakura Kokumai can defend herself. But what will happen if the victim is an Asian senior or an Asian child?
