DON'T become an entrepreneur, if you're considering it.....

But if you're determined to become one, you'll absolutely love it!

Right around Christmas I thought I was out of business. No joke. The influx of new clients had stopped, which honestly didn’t surprise me because from November and during December I had hardly worked - and when you’re new in business, you cannot afford this type of low season. 

The thing is, in mid November a close family member has a serious health issue, and emotionally I didn’t take it lightly. Emotional turmoil combined with building your own business is not a combination for the faint hearted.

But that’s when it hit me: Being an entrepreneur is actually all about being absolutely determined to succeed and rise from whatever life throws at you. Learning to manage your down side and raising the bar for the lowest version of yourself that you can accept is the core of the game - and you have to play a winning mental game Every Single Day, no matter what. 

The Result: Now It’s ON! 

I once read a quote stating that you really shouldn’t become an entrepreneur if you were considering it. Honestly, I got a little offended, because at that time I was considering to start out on my own. 

But now I really understand what it’s about.  

Because now I know that if you have just the slightest doubt about your undertakings, you’re going to get discouraged instantly - because (surprise surprise) life happens (!) and it doesn’t take your employment situation into account. 

Also, now I know that handling resistance is the perfect opportunity to grow in all areas of life. 

Almost three months in to 2018, I can proudly say: game ON! 

I’m back in the game with a steadier client flow, and a relentless focus on delivering unparalleled digital marketing consulting services. (Also, I’m constantly reaching out to business owners to get a better understanding of their pain points. The Secret: I still get LOADS of help 

I’m still getting tons of help, because holy (insert inappropriate word); the path to building your own business is not lineaer (although the lessons learned, the freedom and perks that come with it are invaluable). 

There are tons of amazing people who’ve gone out of their way to help me get back on track personally, and I would like to take an Oscar-moment to thank each one of them (you know, who you are!). 

Also, from a professional point of view, always surround yourself with a winning community that can give you a solid pep-talk and show you what is possible if you stick to the game. Bottom line though: be determined to succeed, surround yourself with quality people who lovingly push you forward and remember, as Beyoncé says “winners never quit on themselves”. 

Next up: new closed office space i Cph, new collaboration partners in CPH, NYC & Medelllin, new intern in cph, negotiations with possibly upcoming clients in NYC and London (and that's only the beginning).
