Thomas Edison's teachers said he was "too stupid to learn anything." He was fired from his first two jobs for being "non-productive." As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps. If I was with him at that time as a leader the first thing I do is to fire that teacher and all people like him for lack of imagination ,lack of trying and motivation and stupidity .
In 1832- lost his job , 1833 - failed in his business, 1835- lost his sweetheart , 1836 - suffered a nervous breakdown, 1838 - defeated in his run for Illinois speaker , 1843 - defeated in his run for Congress, 1856 - defeated in his run for U.S. Senate , 1858 - defeated for the nomination of Vice president, 1860 - Abraham Lincoln is elected President and becomes one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history Are you still afraid to fail? Until a low life loser killed him.
If you’ve never failed, you’ve never lived, is how the saying goes. Failure is probably one of the aspects in life most people are afraid of. But the truth is: everyone has failed and everyone will fail again we sometimes forget that all successful people have failed, but they did not stop after their failures.
They stood up and tried again, time after time. We tend to think that people who are successful were just lucky, it just fell into their laps or they just had the right connections
When people are successful, we always focus on their success, not on the years of struggle, failure and trying again and again. We only see the bright side and don’t want to or forget about the years of hard work, while those years mostly bring the most inspiring and motivational stories.
So do not be afraid of failure, it is a part of your road to success. We give you 4 reasons why you should embrace failure and see it as a valuable part of your journey, after all without failure, how sweet would success be?
“The quickest road to success is to possess an attitude toward failure of ‘no fear’” – Ralph Heath, author of Celebrating Failure: The Power of Taking Risks, Making Mistakes and Thinking Big.
In order to grow, you need failure; it is life’s ultimate lesson. Failing will happen, no matter how hard you try to avoid it, so you might as well have a ‘no fear’ attitude towards it. This does not mean you should expect to fail, but when it happens accept it.
There is value in failure. Through failure you will get to know yourself better and you will learn from your mistakes. Failures make us rethink, reconsider and find new ways and strategies to achieve our goals.
“One of the biggest secrets to success is operating inside your strength zone but outside of your comfort zone,” – Ralph Heath
In order to reach your ultimate potential, your personal best and to make the ‘impossible’ possible, you need to push yourself, go to the absolute limits and definitely not fear failure. When you have a no fear attitude and embrace failure it will maximize your motivation, determination and perseverance.
No one wants to fail, because it is bad for our ego. Failure humbles you and will make you evaluate the situation better. When your ego is in charge, you will not learn from the mistakes you have made, you will not be open to other people’s views or see the situations clearly.
We need to learn, evaluate and listen to other people if we want to see what needs to change in order to succeed. Your ego always wants to be right and will get in the way of you and your success. In order to be successful we have to accept that we were wrong, evaluate, learn and move on.
Quran, Dont fear any one but God.
There are two types of people in this world, people who take failure personally, see it as a permanent situation and give up, and there are people who use it as a lesson, do not take it personally but see it as a temporary setback.
We all feel an emotional low after we have failed, that is natural, human and inevitable. But how we respond to our failures is what determines our road to success. If you feel an emotional low after you have failed, read or listen to stories of people like Oprah Winfrey or J.K. Rowling and their journey to where they are now, this will help you get through your emotional low, get motivation and move on.
“If I become complacent and don’t take risks, someone will notice what I am doing and improve upon my efforts over time, and put me out of work. You’ve got to keep finding better ways to run your life, or someone will take what you’ve accomplished, improve upon it, and be very pleased with the results. Keep moving forward or die.” – Ralph Heath
Throughout history, there have been thousands of famous failures. Even before recorded history, people were battling with the push-and-pull created by this burning desire to succeed. This stems beyond mere survival. Survival is built into our DNA , it’s part of the very fabric that makes us into who we are.
However, human beings weren’t just made to survive; we were made to thrive. We’ve been thriving since the earliest days of our species some 200,000 years ago. With the beautiful invention of language, we’ve been able to expand our knowledge, enhance our technology and vastly improve our quality of life.
Still, while we’re suffering through the disheartening and gut-wrenching pains of failure, we’re often not thinking about thriving, we’re solely focused on surviving. When we fail, it makes us question everything, right down to the very heart of whom we are and why we’ve been put here on this earth. But failure, as much as it hurts, is also a necessary part of life. It’s the pathway to our goals.
In fact, the most successful and famous people in the world have endured the most failures in life. They’ve failed repeatedly. But they’ve also gotten back up. They didn’t throw in that proverbial towel. They didn’t call it quits or head for the ropes. They got up and kept going. And that’s just what it takes to succeed.
Today, if you’ve suffered through failures in the past, or you’re going through the torrent of a failure right now, know this — failure will make you better. Failure will improve your life. It will allow you to reach new understandings and epiphanies on life, love, business and the people all around you.
Still, it’s not enough to talk about failure in that aspect. It’s not enough to talk about the theoretical power that failure has. It’s far more beneficial to look at some of the most famous people in time who’ve failed. It’s far easier to rely on their experiences and witness what they had to suffer through, than it is to just reflect on failure itself.
Remember, you’re never too old to try again. It’s never too late to take another shot. Some of these famous failures were in their 60’s when they gave it another go such as Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of KFC, who was a wild-eyed 65-year old when he set out with nothing more than a $105 social security check in his pocket and a recipe for his now-famous fried chicken.
You get the idea? Never give up on your hopes and your dreams. Never allow someone else to tell you that you’re not good enough, smart enough or talented enough to achieve greatness in whatever capacity you’re seeking. You can do anything you put your mind to.
Many of those famous people you know they failed so many times among them Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein , Bill Gates, Charles Darwin, Charlie Chaplin, Dr. Seuss, Elvis, Presley, George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Henry Ford, James Dyson, Katy Perry, Marilyn Monroe, Mark Zuckerberg, Michael Jordan, Richard Branson, Stephen King, Steve Jobs, Sylvester Stallone, The Beatles, Thomas Addison, Walt Disney, Vincent Vaungogh, Winston Churchill and Millions of others . I am still climbing the ladder every day to catch up .
