The donkey herder's theory to life

If a donkey doesn't want to walk, you can yell and scream, jump around and pull or push, swear at it and get red in the face - or you can decide to sit down with the donkey and explain the benefits of going forward in a nice calm and inspiring way. The result will be the same, of course, the donkey doesn't care either way.
Why do we get upset at things that don't care about us?
Circumstances don't care, the weather doesn't care, and that driver who never looks in the mirror doesn't care.
Sitting down and calmly explaining our predicament may not make one iota of difference to the donkey. Still, we'll feel much better to take on those circumstances and change ourselves to cope with them if we are calm and accepting.
