Winnicott has also been accused of identifying himself in his theoretical stance with an idealised mother (Peter Lomas, The limits of Interpretation,Penguin 1987, pag. 88) in the tradition of mother (Madonna) and child (Adam Phillips, On flirtation, London 1994)
We know the brilliant contribution that DWWinnicott has brought to the understanding of the maturation process: from mother-child interaction during pregnancy and immediately after birth, to the first psychological development of the newborn in the environment, to the formation of the self, to the first internal reality , to the full and to the emptiness of identity, to the patient's vision as an object and as a subject (Renata Gaddini, The maturation process, Cleup, Padua) and to the key points of his theory: the object and transitional phenomena, premise for the game and then for the ability to communicate, with pauses, accents, intonation, especially in analytical communication.
Winnicott writes that: << ... the "mother"sufficiently good .... with almost complete adaptation to the needs of her child ... >> that ... << in a natural way offers her breast and her potential impulse to nourish .. >>
For Winnicott, psychoanalysis, which also includes psychotherapy, takes place in the realm of the game "... which is universal and which belongs to health ..." (DW Winnicott, Playng and Reality, Tavistock Publication, London 1971) .
Patrick Casement, in the work "On Learning from the Patient, London 1995, writes that Winnicott remains one of the few analysts of the twentieth century who, for stature, breadth, minuteness of observations and theoretical fertility, they can legitimately be compared to Sigmund Freud. (Wikipedia)

5 年Jolanda Weening-Woltmeijer.Many thanks for your interest reply. According to Winnicott, both the game and the creation of the transitional object have the meaning of unity achieved, albeit at times, and are the signs of a healthy psychosomatic development.
