So as many know or may not know about my background for many years ... I was in Radio Broadcasting before, during and after my college years. Funny, I attended/graduated Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA with a Communications degree (because nothing says more about learning how to communicate correctly than a college in South Georgia - yee haw!) So how did I wind up here?
Well, from 1997 - 2001, I owned my own Low Power Radio Business in the Atlanta area. Installing low power radio stations in schools, churches, non profits became a business for me ... until the planes hit the towers in 2001 and some complications occurred with the supplier of the transmitters I was reselling ... then I needed to find a real job! So, I landed in the Trade Show World ... been here ever since.
But, I never really lost the desire to work the mic. Have done a few things since then with transmitters and the like ... but as I watched the world of Podcasts and Internet Radio hit the ground running, I was/am intrigued.
So one day I was thinking ... "You know, no one does a Podcast for the Trade Show, Event and Experiential Marketing side of the world." I mean, yeah, there are some who do podcasts related to their products and services, but not really one which centers on the industry as a whole ... speaking on points of interest which affect us all.
But I knew that if it was going to have some validity ... it needed a whole lot more than Mike. So in brainstorming ... I knew there was one person who has been in the industry for many years, has a wealth of knowledge to share, has a strong background of where we came from as an industry to where we are now and where we can go in the future.
