Is Don Hunt on the wrong side of history?

Did the former head of CDOT just throw the City of Denver Transportation and Mobility Committee under the bus?  Does Don Hunt have enough political clout to openly oppose the recommendations of the committee he chairs? Hunt, as well as every member of the committee, were appointed by Mayor Hancock to make recommendations on the city's upcoming bond election.

I wish I could say I found that surprising. But, to be fair, the single occupancy car is the most cheap and effective means of moving people from the position of a government because costs for maintenance and operation are the responsibility of the owner. Transit, bike, and Red all require significant maintenance and operation costs from the government. That said, I support the committee's decision, but it will also take changes in lands and zoning as well s culture to make it a reality. This won't be easy. And i'm happy to offer my services as a facilitator in the future.
