Domaine Boyar Introduces IL BLU - One of the Most Awarded Wines in the World

We are proud to announce that Domaine Boyar is the official importer of the wines from Brancaia, the Italian winery which ranks in the top 10 best wineries in Tuscany. By the end of 2021, we will present on the market their most exclusive and award-winning wine – IL BLU.

Founded in 1984 as part of a family tradition, Brancaia has established its high-quality production over the years. In 1988, Bruno and Bridget Widmer decided to realize their dream of high-quality wine produced from vineyards in Tuscany. Today, their wine is one of the best in the world and every year hundreds of wine lovers visit the family winery to enjoy its irresistible aroma.

Since 2019, the winery is officially organic, exporting its products to over 45 stores worldwide. Initially, they started with the production of only 2 wines, but 37 years later they have 9 wines in their assortment, and over 700,000 bottles are produced annually. Their vineyards now cover over 80 ha.

IL BLU has a 33-years old history. The special selection from the harvest 2018, was created on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of IL BLU’s launch. It was awarded 97 (out of 100) points by James Suckling - one of the most famous winemakers in the world. IL BLU is a true masterpiece in the art of winemaking, with an ageing potential of at least 15 to 20 years. With its 70% Merlot, 25% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, IL BLU combines elegance and great flavour.
