What inspired you to launch Domain Days Dubai, and what makes it unique compared to other domain events?

Having traveled extensively to domain events worldwide, I realized there was a noticeable gap: a dedicated domain event in the MENA region. With close to 30 years of living and working in Dubai, I’ve witnessed firsthand the city’s dynamic growth in the tech industry. Domain Days Dubai is my way of giving back to this thriving community by establishing a world-class event right here in the region.

For our local attendees, it provides an invaluable opportunity to connect and network with industry leaders from across the globe. It also serves as a gateway to the Middle East & Africa for participants from Europe and the Americas, opening doors to a rapidly expanding tech ecosystem.

2. How will this year's edition of Domain Days Dubai stand out from last year’s event?

This year, Domain Days Dubai is set to be even bigger and better. We've seen record growth, with a significant increase in attendees, and have almost doubled the number of sponsors compared to last year. Our audience has expanded, with more participants from Africa and greater representation from prominent global brands.

While maintaining a single track of sessions to ensure a focused and cohesive experience, we've introduced additional networking opportunities between talks. For the first time, we will also feature sponsor booths, enhancing engagement and visibility for our partners. Beyond the main event, more companies are hosting side events, and we're excited to see several private gatherings planned around the conference.

3. What’s the most interesting or unexpected request you’ve received for this year’s Domain Days?

The most interesting request we received this year was to hold a domain auction. Monte Cahn from Right of the Dot approached us with the idea, and we saw an opportunity to add a dynamic new element to the event. We decided to start with an online auction during Domain Days Dubai, dedicating a session specifically to it. If it proves successful, we're considering expanding it into a live auction for future editions, further enriching the event experience.
