Doing What's Right, not Easy

Doing the right thing is about truly serving the moment at hand - giving the situation its due. But how do I decide what's needed?
It begins with detachment. What obscures my judgment is centered in self importance. It isn't about who or what I stand to gain or lose but what is required out there in principle. Detachment helps with that elevated perspective.
It progresses with firmness in action. Tentative steps do not go well with what is right. It requires conviction in the face of resistance. Paradoxically, when I am committed to walking the path alone, I invariably run into allies.
It ends with honest reflection. If the experience doesn't inform or educate me, I won't be able to achieve the single most important criterion on this path - unlearning. Deciding what is right is inseparable from doing it - from living it.

2 年Interesting read Zuhaib, very nicely written as always. I'm curious on your point about detachment. Do you have any practical advice on how one might detach themselves?
