(Not) doing right things the right way…

"Good people do right things; smart people do things right."?

Then there are smart people who choose to do wrong things. And when they do it the wrong way, the consequences are even disastrous. It becomes difficult for them to hold on to friends. Allies of good times turn into foes in bad times.?

(Not) doing right things:

How else would you visualize an IITian with no coherent thinking on career and life? A mechanical engineer choosing to join Indian Revenue Service (IRS) with virtually no significant accomplishment to show over a period of one decade, learning the ropes of an activist and then ditching his own guru to join politics, full time! Someone who as an Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax had ample opportunity to prevent corruption and uncover many scams but ended up being “drunk to power” and becoming the first ever incumbent chief minister of the Indian States to be arrested on allegations of liquor scam while still holding the post!?

(Not) doing things in the right way:

How else would you characterize a smart person (yes, you cannot crack IIT unless you are smart!) hoping to win election after election riding solely on freebies! Someone who, thanks to his unmatched arrogance, does not have a single genuine ally! Someone who never recognizes anything good in any individual, even betraying the trust of his own guru! Someone who keeps on issuing allegations after allegations (at least two to my knowledge during the past week: Yamuna poisoning and horse-trading) with no evidence!?

Doing right things inspires purpose; doing things right influences the ecosystem. ?

Then why do smart people end up doing unsmart things?

Well, I feel we are on to learn from the life history of a smart human, who by virtue of his own misdoings may very well have entered sunset…

Money, Power leads to everything that's what many think is true here as well, but being ethical in life is much bigger and more respectful than anything one can achieve while living.??

Insightful as always. The larger questions on politicians across the world is intent, integrity and honesty. Service beyond self is the mantra. There is no place for self esteem, ego and selfishness in politics. Walking the talk is more important. Unfortunately, across the world politics has become the breeding ground for incompetence and corruption. C Rajagoplaichari in 1960s said “Politics is the last resort of scoundrels”. If it was relevant at that time, it is even more relevant in today’s times .
