Doing Our Part to Support RMHC

When the world seems to be spinning around you, it’s important to focus on the good you can do for the world. I’m proud to say that I don’t have to look very far to find stories of how Global Technology is doing our part to help the community. 

I wanted to share a couple stories of how our people are stepping up for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). For those are you who may not be familiar with RMHC, it supports families with sick children in their time of need. It allows parents who are far from home to stay close to their hospitalized child without incurring hotel and food costs.  As a board member for RMHC of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI), I know that RMHC is experiencing a significant decline in revenue from in-restaurant fundraising as a result of the pandemic. So, every penny counts. I’m proud of what Global Technology has done to make a difference during these trying times. 

RMHC Technology Charity Classic

Summer is traditionally when Global Technology and Capgemini, one of our Provider partners, host our Technology Charity Classic golf outing. While the golf outing was not in the cards this year, the team pivoted to host the first Trivia Charity Classic. 51 teams competed to be the trivia champion, with a total of 123 participants. They raised $31,835 in donations for RMHC of Chicagoland and NW Indiana. Fantastic news – thanks to everyone that participated (check out the screenshot of a small group of us competing below!).

To complement our existing RMHC Round-Up on Kiosks, the U.S. recently enabled the ability for customers to add RMHC donations to their Mobile Orders. This is a big win. It meets our customers where they are – on mobile – and will help close the gap.
