Is doing ISO lead auditor certification course worth or not

I want to share my experience after doing ISO lead auditor certification course. To insure quality of the product, to prove that organization takes care of health and safety of employees also environment, information security etc. Organizations go for relevant ISO certifications to ensure that all these things are taken care. Basically I have 27 years industry experience and also I was ISO internal auditor for 14-15 years in the organization I was associated with.

?Now I am self employed as consultant and trainer so I wanted to be a professional ISO lead auditor since I had experience of being a ISO internal auditor. So I did 5 days CQI-IRCA ISO lead auditor training for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 individually from some authorized certification body, thinking that I can apply for freelance auditor to start with as trainee auditor/observer with any certification body since there are more than 100 certification bodies in India. I thought I will get opportunity and will start this as a new profession. ?

?I started applying to certification bodies for trainee auditor, but the toughest part was experience in man days. I could not understood that if I would have experience as auditor then why I would have applied for trainee auditor. Who ask experience to a person applying for trainee position. This shows that ISO certification bodies organizes training, charging good amount of fee, certifies you as lead auditor, thats all. When you ask the same ISO certification body for Trainee auditor job, they ask you for experience. Strange. They do not consider internal auditors experience. Certification bodies wants readymade auditors and I do not know where these readymade experienced auditors are cultivated.

?So my conclusion regarding this is, that ISO lead auditor certification course is beneficial only for those, where the fee is sponsored by the organization they are working with and it will be helpful till they are associated with the organization. Once you left the organization will not help you in future. If someone wants to take it as profession and wants to be a auditor and paying from your own pocket, I suggest not to go for this since this is totally wastage of money.
