Not doing anything is not an option for doing nothing

“Doing nothing” is a conscious choice; “not doing anything” is a lack of conscious choice to do something. The mind needs rest. The mind needs down time. I frequently make the choice to “do nothing”, so my mind can rest. By nothing, I mean not even consciously meditating (I do that, too). I sit and simply exist. I can’t even use the word “trying to…”, because the whole point is to not try, not act, not will…just be. “Not doing anything” simply means I’m running on auto-pilot (as most of us do much of the day).
Of course, it doesn’t mean I’m literally not doing anything—it just means I’m not doing anything important, particularly relative to whatever whoever’s asking the question might have in mind (because “I’m not doing anything” is usually in response to the question, “Are you doing anything?”). So if I’m “not doing anything”, it means I’m open to suggestions, but if I’m “doing nothing”, it’s because I really want to do nothing.
Actually we have lots of things for doing, and we know everything what's going wrong or right, still wasting of time, we have to planned a day and accordingly start and end, lots of things like reading newspaper novels and spend sometime with yourself, when we sit alone and thinking about whole day then feel that how much time we waste for others, don't repeat same again we have one life for live,we are thankful to god. Sit around positive vibes people who is learned from you and vice versa, I want to say please focus on your goal and stay away from controversies fake negative people.
The former states a negative with a positive verb, the latter states a negative with a negative verb. the result is fundamentally the same. In Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass", Alice is asked to see if the messenger is close. She looks down the road and says, “I see nothing on the road”. One of the other characters (forget which) leaps to his feet and gazes earnestly down the road, then says “what remarkable eyesight you have! Why at this distance, I could barely see something on the road.”

That book, by the way, is essential reading for any modern student of language, meaning, and logic. In addition to being a delightful read, it is peppered with provocative little moments like the foregoing. When you are doing nothing, then you are doing something. — you are avoiding something you probably should do. being lazy or perhaps engaging in abstinence. But if you are not doing anything you are dead; breathing is something. Thinking is something. At least it is different from the typical “how do I stop doing nothing?”, “how do I find motivation?”.Your assumption is correct: Most of the time, people prefer doing nothing, rather than something.
Why? Simply because doing something requires effort. And putting some effort into something is somehow always painful. This is why people generally watch a lot more TV, than read. Others do not study or do not exercise at all. Studying, exercising, working, etc as it all requires effort and effort is painful. Or not exactly: no effort avoids pain on the moment, but it pushes back the pain in the future. For instance, you want to eat that chocolate cake right now, since resisting requires some effort. But when you are fat, then you experience a lot more pain. Same as when you do not study, do not exercise, do not work, do not focus on your relationship, etc..Pain will always pop up at some point: you will get fat, break up, not promoted. Cheers!
