2022 has been a busy year for Dogwoof, Here we take a look back at the activity of a few of our standout documentaries of the year.

After its world premiere in Sundance back in January, the film’s impact continues to be felt with it being hotly tipped to be nominated for an Academy Award, NAVALNY continues to be a must-watch of 2022.

Standing ovation for the filmmakers of NAVALNY at the European Premiere at CPH:DOX in March.

With packed out screenings and standing ovations for the NAVALNY team after the International Premiere at CPH:DOX, Director Daniel Roher said at the festival:

“I hope the film illustrates a portrait of a man who offers a different vision. In this incredible darkness, I hope this story of Navalny and his character can be a light.

The documentary continues to screens globally, and recently there with a special panel and Q&A event hosted by Hugh Grant in November in London, discussing the themes and issues raised in the film.?

Released late last year both in the UK and US, the documenary exploring the career of Arther Ashe has continued to pick up awards and critical acclaim. The film recently won a Grierson Award for Best Sport Documentary and picked up Best Sports Documentary at the Critics Choice Documentary Awards.

Tennis legend John McEnroe was on the red carpet for the world premiere of McENROE at Tribeca Film Festival. The film was release theatrically in the summer in the UK and screened on CNN in the US.

Featuring never-before-seen footage and told by the man himself, McEnroe recalls the epic career of one of the most explosive sporting icons of all time, whose internal conflict drove him to the very top, and very nearly broke him too.

Following its premiere at Sundance at the start of the year, THE TERRITORY with the help of the Dogwoof team has screened at over hundred international film festivals this year!

The documentary provides an immersive on-the-ground look at the tireless fight of the Indigenous Uru-eu-wau-wau people against the encroaching deforestation brought by farmers and illegal settlers in the Brazilian Amazon. The film has screened all over the world including CPH DOX, Movies That Matter Festival, Sydney Film Festival, Helsinki International Film Festival, Zurich Film Festival, DOC NYC, Human Rights Film Festival Berlin and Hong Kong International Film Festival too name just a few!

In September Dogwoof released the film theatrically in the UK in association with National Geographic and the documentary has continued to pick up awards and critical acclaim.?

The film recently won a Cineme Eye Honors Award and has been nominated for a PGA Award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Pictures.
