A DOG'S LIFE
A Dog’s Life ― Richard Lawrence Belford

A DOG'S LIFE

There are those who say they like dogs more than people. This might be why:

  • They’re always happy to see us no matter how long we’ve been gone, how we behave or what kind of day we have had.?
  • They are eternally loyal, good listeners, don’t talk back and although we wish they could,?they sometimes seemingly try.
  • We think we rescued them, but in reality the opposite is true.
  • They unconditionally love us no matter how upset we may get at them.?

Unfortunately dogs don’t live long enough, but I believe just as in life. They will always be waiting for us. It was with this thought in mind that I wrote the following parable.?A parable is a symbolic short story that illustrates or teaches some truth, religious principle or moral lesson.

I sincerely hope it provides those grieving the loss of their best friend with a measure of solace, belief, faith and hope in the days ahead.

A Dog’s Life?

It doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re going through.?It doesn’t matter if it's many hours or just a few. A dog waits for you.??
It doesn’t matter who rescued who or which is actually true.?It doesn’t matter if you’re upset they stole your shoe?or by other things they should not do. A dog waits for you.
It doesn’t matter how long you live or how short a dog’s life can be. The only thing that matters is the day we finally see.?
There’s a place a dog waits for you; And me.
