I think that even a lot of Federal Employees would agree that something(s) aren't working, but what is the Root Cause?
Many times Congress (or Lawmakers) issue new Legislation, but leave the way how it is executed in Limbo. Sadly, this negligence has been adopted by private entities as well. This kind of "Head Line" Politics with Details left to others to figure out has lead to an overblown Apparatus that lacks efficiency. Money is thrown at a Problem, without clear guidance and thus will need to be figured out by the Courts, wasting more Money and Time, adding frustration to all those involved.
Sadly, the Media only picks up the Pork and Pet Projects - the clear and immediate mis-appropriation of Taxpayers Money, but with the ADD being common at all Levels of the Media and Electorate, the Focus is generally short lived.
Americans are not satisfied with their Representatives.
Given the initial Question about the "Root Cause", is Musk focusing on the true Problem or simply on something that gets Headlines?
Whatever he will try concerning Federal Employees, we can rightfully assume that the Courts will have their say. Facing yet again prolonged delays, frustrated People, high Costs and likely little gain for the People since the Issue at Hand isn't fixed.
The right way for Musk would NOT to get into Bed with Legislators, but to tell them to do their Job with more due diligence. Only with clear guidance can the Bureaucracy function more efficiently, less guess work and legal challenges at every corner.
The reason for the overblown Federal Administration are not the Employees (or Departments), but the Lack of Congress being specific.
And, it might also be that the Private Sector suffers from the same Problems. Lack of specific Guidance and Empowerment, leaving People to guess and with uncertainty.
Truman said "The Buck Stops Here".
Maybe time to reflect on that once again.
One Thing Musk and Trump could immediately eliminate on Jan 20th is the TSA.
That is one annoying and obsolete Agency that adds no value.
