Worked on a slightly different project to the norm with Ed where over 12 weeks of coaching he wanted to:

> Develop more strength and build some muscle (he was already pretty strong!),

> Be fitter, improve his flexibility and be less injury prone, and

> Get better at handling stress

So proud of the leaps he’s made in such a short space of time, proving that a guy who is a business owner, husband and Dad can significantly improve himself physically and mentally

Excited to see where we go next on Ed’s personal mission!

> 4kg / 9lbs body mass increase with minimal gains on his stomach

> Trouser size down 0.5 inch, 2.5 inches added to arms, 2 inches bigger chest & back

> Creating a new training habit of 3 to 4 times a week so that he could improve strength in pull movements (+49%), push movements (+42%) and squat (+22%)

> Getting a much better feel for his nutrition needs and knowledge to build his strength, improve fitness, fuel day to day activities (especially when doing physical work activities at 2am!) and create sustainable habits to support all aspects of his life, whether at home or on the road

And all of this whilst at the same time: -

- Running his own business, coaching hockey and supporting his wife and two kids

- Having to work a number of heavy physical loading shifts at crazy times of the day (many after midnight)

- Spending a chunk of time driving between business locations, sat on his ar*e not doing anything

- Being initially injured, handling the disappointment of not being able to compete in a physical challenge and steadily working on injury prevention to set himself up for the long term so he can do more of what he loves (hockey, Tough Mudder races, fulfilling his potential)

In Ed’s own words:

“I thought my body was in reasonable shape before I took the initial photos. When studying these photos, I quickly realised I was kidding myself and really needed to get back to where I wanted to be.

I believed I ate reasonably well / healthily but again, breaking the foods down it wasn’t great. Not enough protein in my diet to fuel my busy active lifestyle.

Stressed with the kids and possibly not enjoying the time with them like I should be.”

“I feel better, happier in the way I look, not quite where I want to be but certainly a lot closer and definitely achievable over time.

I enjoy the foods I eat now and have a better understanding of what my body needs to fuel my active lifestyle.

Less stressed with the kids and certainly more enjoyable to play with them now.

Lack of Sleep has shown that I need to try to improve this. Somehow get more rest / sleep to give me that recovery my body needs.”

“Time to get things done, workouts, foods, etc. Not to put things off but to commit and set aside time to achieve my goals. Not to push myself too hard and injure myself.”

“Setting goals at the beginning of each week really helped me plan my time, or when I would do my workouts, and therefore made it easier to achieve the results I did.”
