Does your Whole Team Understand Your Business Completely?
Steve Schreiber
Do you know the reasons why customers/clients choose your products/services? Do you know exactly why they decide to unsubscribe and/or do not add on features to your service? I focus on these issues and more....
Have you ever evaluated how familiar your entire team of employees are about their knowledge of the services and products your company sells? While your product development, sales, and marketing team members likely have a thorough understanding of your products and services, including all applicable use cases what about your management team members, and associates in other functions?
Simply stated, if everyone working in your business at every level is not thoroughly knowledgeable of the portfolio of your company’s products and services and fully aware of your ideal customer business cases then they cannot be fully engaged in the development of a customer centric organization.
This may seem intuitive, but a quick interview of management and certain functional team members for medium sized firms sadly reveals a lack of understanding regarding who their ideal customer is and what value their products and services add.
How can any executive contribute to the planning and successful day-to-day running of a business when they are not completely knowledgeable with the company’s offering portfolio? The answer is that they should not be members of your team if they do not understand your offerings and how the customer life cycle elements work for each product and service sold.
If you have team members, in any function, who do not see their product/service understanding as being integral to their own success and the ultimate profitability of your enterprise they either need instant retraining or replacement.
