Does your LinkedIn profile feature the "Featured" section?

A while back LinkedIn did its normal thing off changing things and not telling you…again!! This time the changes I think are an improvement as it stands out where what it replaced did not make that much impact, but this helps your profile measure up for viewers

Let me introduce you to the Featured section. It sits directly under your about section and allows you to add 4 types of items, whereas the previous way was to add an upload or a link from within your about section, but many people missed this and it did not really stand out when you did add them.

This new section, to be found in the “Add Profile Section” button at the top of your profile in the middle under your headline, allows these 4 additions

I would not add more than 5 or 6 as viewers will have to scroll to see them all and will probably only look at the 3 they can see so it is important to make sure that they are the ones that mean the most in helping your profile. I have my monthly article a link to my website and a video as my 3.

Posts

When you press the + add button it shows you a list of your posts with the most recent one at the top, then just chose the want you want

Articles

Works in the same way as posts and I always Pin my latest one there

Links

This is looking for a URL but I would advise against adding a YouTube one, as it is not liked by LinkedIn/Microsoft

Media

Here you can add items that are stored on your desktop, so images PDF’s but also video if you keep a copy of them there. I do as I record often on Zoom.

So there you have it another useful addition to the profile that just appeared if you know where to look.
