Cutting someone off is never simple, especially if they are close to you. It's never easy to admit that a loved one is a source of so much trouble that you can't keep them in your life.

?When I realized that maybe the root of my mental health illness, or at least the aggravating factors, was my family, I felt extremely guilty and tried to get rid of that thought.?

?I used to think, "How can a family be toxic?" They are a big chunk of our personality—past, present, and even future. But despite my major efforts, I wasn’t able to battle my demons. I resorted to online counseling sessions with Rytlife, hoping to find some help.

I’ve been extremely perplexed on my journey towards better mental health and wanted nothing but the best therapist in India for me.?

Through my online counseling sessions, I realized that there are certain traits displayed by people that are truly not healthy, be they family, friends, seniors, or co-workers.?

No matter how much I would like to think that my family is perfect, in reality, my family and its members may not always have healthy communication skills, behaviors, expressions, or reactions to certain situations.

Recognizing unhealthy patterns

What was important for me was to realize these unhealthy traits and actively work for my mental health.

I think it's safe to say that nobody deserves to be abused. That being the case, I always think, "Why do we excuse our relatives?" Why do we think it's okay to put up with their cruel treatment of us??

With the help of online mental health counseling, I understood that a lot of people, including me, don't consider their family’s actions to be abusive.

The sense of fear and love has made me downplay it and find reasons to ignore it. Despite being emotional abuse, I find it difficult to use that term.?

Conclusion?

Although getting the best online counseling has given me a crystal clear vision of what’s healthy for my mind and what’s not, this has made me happy, productive, and able to enjoy life.

After much online psychological consultation in India, I’ve learned how not to blame myself for my family’s actions and when to cut communication with my mind to safeguard from hatred, insecurity, and unhealthy attachment patterns!?
