COVID19 has shattered assumptions about HOW, WHEN and WHERE work gets done. Organisations have reacted quickly to adapt and survive moving employees from office work to 100% remote over night, closing down factories and shops, trying to understand what is the most feasible scenario for the organisation to survive with minimum impact on the operating model.
At that speed of change and adapting to new requirements, we have pushed the dial forward for technology to play an even more important place in our working lives than before. We have created digital and hybrid workplaces, revolutionised tools and technologies, drove higher adoption of mobile use and smartphones and migrated significant amount of our human interactions to digital via tech, AI, chatbots and self-service, sometimes to the detriment of our ways of working, culture and people.
Two years after COVID was declared a pandemic, is the time to intentionally reinvent the future of work, define what we’re keeping from the lessons learned in the past two years but also how do we reshape our future ways of working. HR leaders have a unique opportunity and responsibility to evolve from legacy location-centric work design to a more equitable human-centric, outputs and outcomes-based work design that empowers the workforce to thrive in the post-pandemic world.
With technology advancements revolutionising our work, workplace and workforce, how do we envision the future of HR? According to Capgemini, a global powerhouse of innovation, design, and transformation, the future of HR is a digitized function powered by insight and digital technology, envisioning and enabling the fluid and augmented workforce of the future. But does the market believe their HR tech is up to standard to drive this change and to deliver performance over the coming years? Is HR Technology in our organsiations ready and able to support our organisational ambitions?
Let us explore the future of work together and understand the role of ‘intelligent HR’ or HR 4.0 in that future. How can HR tech support organisational transformation and moving HR into the future?
