Does Your Company Have a Winning Corporate Culture?

The culture of a corporation has been written about frequently over time. Some of these articles are a bit "academic" and out of touch. Others I find to be pretty spot-on. But regardless, this is something I find is often ignored in companies I work with. Not usually because senior management doesn't realize it's important. Although that's sometimes the case.

More often, they find themselves "too busy" fighting fires and managing day-to-day activities to spend too much time on such a squishy, big-picture issue. It's easy to put off until they are less stressed and busy, which often never comes. Or maybe it's overwhelming to think about how to go about developing and optimizing a company's culture. it's just TOO HARD.

At any rate, a corporate culture develops, whether guided intentionally and effectively or not. And what it looks like has a large effect on the company's performance, especially in the long run.
