Seeking a Full-Time Remote Role as a Web Designer & Developer | Crafting Exceptional, User-Friendly Websites That Drive Results and Elevate Brands
Before the advent of mobile devices, all websites were only made for desktops and laptops. But today, a website must be mobile-friendly (responsive) to be accessible on smart phones and tablets. More than 50% of the world’s web traffic comes from mobile phones. So it’s more important than ever that your business website is mobile-friendly.
The fine folks at Google released a mobile-friendly test tool that tests how easily a mobile visitor can use your website. You simply visit the web page, paste in your website url and run the test.
If you pass, then you can rest assured that your website is performing well on all devices. The underlying code for your website is responsive. This makes your web pages seamlessly adjust to different screen sizes.
If you don’t pass, then you’ll receive a helpful list of issues along with help on how to resolve them. And if Google’s tool isn’t enough to convince you to make changes, read up on these statistics:
- In the United States, consumers are on mobile devices 5 hours each day
- 61% of mobile device users are unlikely to go back to sites they have difficulty accessing
- Close to 75% of US adults used smart phones in 2016
