Recovering from the lag of a national holiday can be a reality and while light opportunities in the schedule this week is not something to be alarmed about, a few simple redirections for your team can keep it from lingering into next week.
And as the CEO of your business, motivating your team today can be one of the most productive ways to drive future performance.
Remember that opportunity slots in your schedule should be reserved for conducting business or for opportunity creation activities. And since you may have some time on your hands, here are some activities that can drive your team to fill future spots.
Here’s a checklist of activities for filling open opportunity blocks:
- Call each of your top accounts or missed opportunities from June, let them know that their success and the value they receive is your chief concern. While on the phone, be human and humble: mention something personal that they shared with you, ask if they’d developed any additional questions or needs, and invite them back to reconsider their options.
- Pull your outbound call specialists aside to let them know how pleased you are with their performance in June. Show appreciation for the specific results that they drove: X amount of successful opportunities where they helped a customer to make real, positive changes in their business or their lives. By focusing on the positives, you’ll prompt them to continue to contribute.
- Thank your front office personnel for their performance and reaffirm the WHY behind what they do: better customer outcomes, more people served with less objections, etc. Again, they’ll remember how you made them feel by praising them and drive for even better results.
- Ask your sales leadership for an update on outbound strategies and discuss how to develop more customer prospect lists for outbound calls. Thank them for their contributions and development to date.
