Are you taking your business or your department to the next level? Do you stand out inside your organization as an innovative leader? Or are you just running your area to survive? Isolation is not good inside of any business and department.
Looking around the professional industry, we were tired of the lack of programs out there to help professionals tackle tough issues and implement awesome ideas with peers in the industry. Starting or growing a business is a constantly changing role for the founder and executives, and will be isolating at times. It taxes the skills, knowledge, and abilities of every entrepreneur. Peer groups provide support to founders and executives, helping them gain wisdom from the collective experience of the members and sharing the common joys and challenges of the position itself.
So we started in the Chicagoland area and created valuable membership groups focused on learning to make better decisions as a group, get better results and outcomes, and become better leaders. Peer groups help any business become more financially viable through the power of working collaboratively with other peers who have already been there and done that. If a company isn’t being as profitable as it should be, or it’s putting money into areas that offer little return, a peer group can assist in recognizing and resolving these issues, and enable the business to grow again.
We are the advisors of our groups and are here with the intention to NOT CONSULT, only to listen and keep the group moving forward. We ask the tough questions to get to the root causes of the challenges and help the groups work through their struggles in their industry. Peer groups give executives opportunities to explore solutions to everyday problems without the emotional connection that typically serves as a roadblock in decision-making.
Yes, you can join a social networking group or a club, but nothing out there works on exactly the challenges of your industry with peers of your own caliber and gives you a confidential outlet for resolution. When it comes to finding the right peer group, accountability should be an integral part of the group’s central principles, and it is the backbone of ours. Otherwise, individuals who attend these meetings won’t necessarily feel obligated to the overall mission of the peer group, and will be taken less seriously by other members who have shared their advice on how to fix problems or make improvements.
Our peer groups have strong ground rules to facilitate action and drive discussion around well-defined issues within the group. Members must feel open to relate their experiences. This requires a high level of trust between the members. For that reason, there should be no business relationship between the members. That means neither competition, nor vendor-customer relationships. Strict confidentiality must be agreed upon upfront and always enforced.
Surveys and industry statistics show that businesses and executives involved in peer groups grow their business 3x faster than those that do not.

8 年Sounds like a great group and good purpose. Sorry we are not in the Chicago area. Are there these types of groups in Washington State? Would love a referral if you know of one.
