Does wisdom start with self-awareness?

As Aristotle put it, “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” Wisdom is a combination of knowledge, experience, and good judgment that enables us to make sound decisions and act wisely in various situations.

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world.?Today, I am wise so I am changing myself.” -Rumi.

While self-awareness is an important aspect of wisdom, it is not the only factor. Wisdom also involves the ability to consider multiple perspectives, think critically, communicate effectively, and reflect on one's values and beliefs. It is a quality that is developed over time and through a variety of experiences, including learning from one's own mistakes and the successes and failures of others.

From my experience, it is important to remember that intelligence and skill are not necessarily correlated and that every individual is unique and has their own experiences and qualifications. It is not fair to make generalizations about groups of people based on their country of origin.

Self-awareness is an important component of wisdom. When we are self-aware, we can recognize and understand our thoughts, feelings, and emotions, which can help us to make sound decisions and act wisely in various situations. However, wisdom is not solely determined by self-awareness. It is also influenced by knowledge, experience, and good judgment, as well as the ability to consider multiple perspectives, think critically, communicate effectively, and reflect on one's values and beliefs. Wisdom is a quality that is developed over time and through a variety of experiences, including learning from one's own mistakes and the successes and failures of others.

Thank you for tagging me here, Syed Mehdi Raza EIT ENV SP rcji. In particular, your comment about making generalizations about groups of people based on their country of origin resonated with me. Cultural awareness can help us in our interactions with others, but above all it's important to treat each person as an individual made up of various experiences rather than making assumptions based on a single part of their identity.
