Does this really work?

If, online you can't share the core of your story in 4 paragraphs, your topic is too big, because:

1 - Online we have the attention span of a goldfish - so you need to grab my attention right away in exactly 8 seconds. We are in such a flow mode online that you must be really interesting to make me stop scrolling and spend time with you.

That's why the first sentence of your post must be the scroll topper.

  • In that first sentence you have to name a pain that I am experiencing right now.
  • Solving an issue that has bothered me for a long time or disproving an assumption.
  • In that 1st sentence you have to make me curious.

If your next step then offers large chunks of text, my thumb starts to scroll spontaneously.

Be specific, short and to the point. Make it easy for me as a customer to consume.

2- Choosing to focus on a niche expertise online is crucial and different from offline marketing. Online I talk about personal branding, nothing else.

Because I want to be top of mind on that subject.

  • It would be difficult for my target audience to create a hook to hang me to, should I share everything I do.
  • Moreover, I want my audience to make the association #NHGBe! = Monetisation as a Service. That is only possible with focus.
  • The principle of top-of-mind position always is at plays.

This allows you to expand your reach in this discipline by consciously determining the focus on Your niche-offer. Therefor choose a niche in which you are thought leader.

3-Sharing a post on LinkedIn is utterly useless. LinkedIn makes sure that the most recent post gets the most attention and reach. All posts that are shared receive minimal attention, because it is important that

  • Your timeline must remain as valuable as possible for your audience,
  • this message remains on the platform as long as possible.
  • Liking or responding (comment) or asking to share with any and all is really useless.

4- Use external links in exceptional cases. Because such link makes you leave LinkedIn, they don't like that. With a link, LinkedIn ensures that your message is shown to fewer people to reduce the risk you leave their platform. Reader content is rewarded by LinkedIn.

When must choose your moments to post with a link carefully, don't do it in every message.

Back-pocket S.M.A.R.T. Summary

1. Grab the attention

2. Focus on a niche expertise

3. Post sharing is prohibited

4. Do not post external links

This is how you build your personal brand!

Yes this really works!
