Does Posting on G+ Positively Affect SEO?
I recently asked this question on Quora:
"Does posting on G+ positively affect my SEO?
It appears that G+ for business is now a local affair, linked directly to a Google MyBusiness entry. Does it pay in terms of SEO to post on G+?
Does it affect only my local store or is it likely to affect online sales noticeably? Or do I have to rely on AdWords for that?"
Here the Answers (so far):
Posting in Google Plus will help your SEO to some acceptable extent because I can even see it for my own blog. https://www.seobloggingtricks.com/
Whenever I posted a new article or updated something on my site, I use to post on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.
And the very next day when I searched Google for the same page using any of the focus keywords I used, I can see my G+ posting in the top 5 - 10 rankings which is leading to my actual article page.

Yes, I agree with Isaac William. You need a lot of connections to see significant results with G+ .
Now, I’ll share an excerpt from a Moz post:
“While not everyone has an audience active on Google+, the number of people who interact socially with any Google products on a monthly basis now reportedly exceeds 500 million.
What's different about Google+ is that beyond the direct social visits as seen above, Google offers marketers the opportunity to interact with visitors through many more touch points, including YouTube and directly in search results. This means that for visitors who engage with you through Google+, the potential traffic channels multiply. “
In essence, my point is that, it’s not a waste of time and effort to utilize G+ to drive traffic. especially because it’s Google’s product. They are constantly bringing innovative ideas to help increase the reach of authors. Just like the Google’s authors page. So, even in the nearest future they’re most likely to still give more preference to G+.
Google reducing its push of Google+ as it almost failed to stand out as a viable social media site. We might see it going off the air any day, if orkut could go out I don't think Google+ won't face it one day. It's just a delay in Twitter’s acquisition by Google which is not allowing them to turn off the server for the much hyped social media site.
But until date, it’s one of the most visited and used social media sites although Google images, hangout, youtube and all other successful Google properties are removed from Google Plus connection.
You may use it for its capacity to spread the content in search and direct to the email account of the user. And if you have a good connection use it till it shuts down. I don't see anything bad in using it but I don't take it as a long term competitor against other such sites which give you SEO benefit like:
- Facebook Page and Profile
- LinkedIn Account and LinkedIn Pulse content
- Quora Profile and Content
- Medium Content
- Yahoo Questions and answers
- Twitter profile
- Slide share's reach
- YouTube’s massive impact as an independent search engine and availability in Google search
- Pinterest the major player with 100 Million+ viewers
- Tumblr
- Flickr
All play a major role including Google+ but as google is de-linking many of its products from this social media platform there is a raging debate when and how it will close?
Does GPlus affect SEO? Yes. yes, it does. Though perhaps not in ways you’d think.
In a least-case scenario, a link from your active Gplus profile to your site is a high-scoring inbound link worth much more than a link from a directory or another typical website. Scores aside, Gplus and Google My Business profiles are critical cornerstone assets for local businesses, powering the Local Pack and providing Google Adwords with proof of location.
Looking a bit deeper, as demonstrated in the attached screen shot, Google Search Console shows that 12.11% of social traffic to (my) Kayak Online Marketing website originated in Gplus, which is roughly 50% of the traffic coming from Facebook and 10% greater than traffic coming via LinkedIn. As I’m not active on Reddit having it send me 27.26% of traffic was a bit of a surprise (I suspect there was a bit of referral spam in the Reddit data, but will dig deeper on that later).
Google’s core ranking signals keep an eye on number of visitors, time on page, and multiple-page views, so it’s a no-brainer that attracting visitors via Gplus (and other social sites) impacts search rankings, even if just indirectly. Add blog comments to the mix and the additional bulk of words on your site further helps to solidify your site in Google’s eyes as worthy of ranking increases.

Yes, Regular Google+ Posting, Likes & Sharing help in SEO backlinks, ranking & traffic for your site in Google, Bing & Yahoo. Google+ is also most popular social media site.
We use Google+ for Posting while Google Local Business listing for local listing in our local areas.

Google plus affect your SEO if done properly. It means you need to have a lot of connections or followers. That way you can increase the reach of your post. That ultimately help you in getting traffic.
Without any follower or connection its worthless of using the G+.
Google +, back when it initially came out was thought of as an SEO goldmine. In terms of engaging users - it’s a tough game.
In my opinion as of now the only beneficial thing for marketers to know is that Google+ posts pass along link equity to other pages - meaning your content posted on your Google + page should rank higher based on specific search keywords you have optimized in your blog/content as well as the keywords you have used in your Google + post.
In conclusion, the Google Plus situation seems clear as mud. We all suspect that there are SEO benefits and the most likely benefit appears to be delivered via backlinks posted via G+.
If Google Plus does not offer any obvious value for you and you don't want to lose out on suspected G+ posting benefits, use a social media tool like Buffer that makes it easy to share your LinkedIn posts directly to G+ at the same time. Don't create a specific G+ strategy unless your audience is definitely there and you are active in collections and communities.
Maybe surprising to many, there are some VERY active communities on Google+:
- Landscape Photographer Community (1m+)
- Toy Photographers (3.5K)
- Harry Potter, One Direction, Pokemon…
Last, there are rumors that Google might turn Maps into a community destination:
“You can [now] create lists of places, share your lists with others, and follow the lists your friends and family share with you—without ever leaving the Google Maps app (Android, iOS).” https://buff.ly/2l6kLKF

7 年Yes, it does. From my recent experience at a high-tech startup, the more posts we had on GooglePlus, it did generate more indirect traffic to the website.

7 年The biggest (new) thing in Gplus is Collections. I've grown my followers 500% this year with one collection. While indirect, the added traffic and shared interests are driving new leads regularly.
