Does a Planner ever get a day off?

Does an event planner ever get a day off?

I know for me, I am always being asked for my ideas, my help, my resources and my "eye" for certain things. And I always acquiesce. Why you ask? Because it is in my nature to always say yes. When asked for my ideas on a layout of an event, the schedule of activities, even the decor I always give a quick tip or trick in response. When asked if I can help to setup a party or make sure the flow of the event goes smoothly, I comply. And when I am asked for a vendor's name or a baker or balloon twister, I have plenty in my arsenal, so why not share them? A planner is always saying "yes" because it is innate to them. It is like second nature to help out.

So, when I ask if an event planner ever gets a day off, the answer is simply no. But I guess that is just part of the job. Although, knowing that if I can help in some modicum of a way and make their day brighter or their party more successful, then it makes my inner OCD planner heart smile. Why, you ask? Because a planner never gets a day off, unless they scheduled it in google calendar :)
