It does not only take genius but also courage to change things

Have you ever wondered what life would be if we were all similar; i.e. same colour, same taste, same language, same temperament… wouldn’t it be dull!?
Flying back to my beautiful #Mauritius last Sunday, I watched this movie on the plane: Green Book (which I definitely recommend) by Peter Farrelly with Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen. My take from this great movie is that beyond knowledge and intelligence, we can all possess #greatness through #understanding, #acceptance and #patience.
It made me realise how difficult life is for some people, even now in 2019 when we have so many facilities and possibilities. While a few are born with tremendous resources, acquired status and material wealth, others might have to strive and grow up fast from not so easy environments.
Here’s what is the most interesting part… It doesn’t take only one man to change this around. But it takes one to begin within one’s life. We all have dark moments at least once in our lives. While #courage lifts us through these, we can seldom face them alone and though we might think we do, there is always someone around to contribute to this success.
Think of all those challenges we have encountered so far. Try to relate to people who have encountered injustice, racism, xenophobia, civil war and other calamities of this world. How do we compare? How brave have we been? How courageous can we be more? I already have my answer and am sure you do.
We live in such a beautiful and fascinating world. Let’s just not let everyday obstacles stop us from achieving the greatness we are meant for nor for leading the change we want to see. Let’s be more courageous to stand for our beliefs.
