Does one-size-fits-all work as an approach to training for nano-entrepreneurs?

Does one-size-fits-all work as an approach to training for nano-entrepreneurs?

One of Udhyam Vyapaar’s first offerings and, for a long time, one of the mainstays of our program was in the space of training for nano-entrepreneurs.?

As was the case with us, we noticed that most organisations we engaged with in this space usually take one of two approaches in training micro entrepreneurs - cohort based sessions where groups of entrepreneurs go through generalised mindset or business development programs; or programs where topics such as taking business online, marketing, etc. are identified by the organisation delivering the training and entrepreneurs decide to participate in? the program based on their understanding of whether or not these might be useful for them.?

Having used both of these approaches in the past, we wanted to understand if there was a more efficient and effective method - both for the entrepreneurs and the organisation running the training program.

?We tried to answer this question in two parts -?

1) By creating a diagnostic tool that uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative responses to identify area/s that could be gaps in the business;?

2) Targeted training/mentoring that addresses specific, relevant gaps in the businesses of micro-entrepreneurs making it of greater benefit to the entrepreneurs than generalised training programs.

We would love to hear thoughts from others working in this space - what do you think works better - generalised or more specific training programs for enabling nano entrepreneurs??
