"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop." - Confucius

In 2023, I set myself a goal:

To be consistent, explore different areas of the signaling industry, promote knowledge sharing, and present the industry from a different angle - approachable for both professionals and enthusiasts.

The idea ??

What started as a vague idea soon became a daily activity.

Today marks a day when I've been sharing my posts consecutively for 365 days.

All thanks to persistence and goals that sparked last year.

With a total number of 376 posts, I even exceeded the assumption of 1 post per day.

Statistics ??

The interesting part comes with the analytics of the posts.

Here are the main highlights of my year-long contribution:

Overall, my posts covered several different areas, mainly focused on:

  • Technology ??
  • Data, science and analytics ??
  • AI ??

The secondary focus was on:

  • Development ??
  • Growth ??
  • Personal experience ??.

The circular graph below represents the distribution of the results as well as percentage of the posts referring to specific area:

Detailed distribution of post categories with the number of posts

Ultimately, the understanding of the latest technology combined with a business outlook gives good preparation for upcoming technological shifts and staying up-to-date with the latest technological trends.

Benefits ?

The constant exposure to industry news, research, data, the latest technology, trends and community contributions highlighted the importance of transportation systems and technology used in projects that benefit billions of people annually.

The constant knowledge sharing enabled:

  • Outreach to broader community both professionals and enthusiasts
  • Opened the gates for many collaborations
  • Involvement in new international projects that I became a part of

One more data that I wanted to share are the numbers reflecting the overall community engagement and interactions.

The data below and the numbers reflect the overall community engagement and interactions:

What's striking is that my posts reached over 1,300,000 impressions over the span of 365 days, which I consider as a good indicator for the value given to the community.

Lessons Learned ??

Getting to this point was not a straightforward path.

Over the year I spent hundreds of hours making research, searching for interesting ideas and conveying them to the community.

What looks easy from the outside is not always that straightforward.

Sticking to a solid plan is difficult - but the reward, whatever a person sets it as, is worth it.

The initial excitement and ease caught on, but lasted only a few weeks.

After several weeks of daily contributions, creating high-quality content became more difficult. It occurred to me that this was the first major low point - a challenge many people face several weeks after their initial commitment, regardless of the goal.

Overcoming this first low point fueled the next months of contributions.

Ups and downs happened along this way, but I kept on going.

With a few pitfalls along the way, after the initial few months I built up a habit.

The perseverance allowed me to deeply involve myself in areas I wanted to explore, finding new efficient ways of working, and integrating dozens of tools into my workspace.

In the end, consistency has advantage over intensity.

What's next? ??

My goal for 2024 has been completed.

The next goals are about to be set for 2025.

In the future I'd like to cover a lot of technological topics, with broad focus on deep tech, AI, machine learning, and the latest technological breakthroughs and trends.

I believe that in the long term technological advancement will bring a lot of benefits.

However, it's also important to emphasize risks emerging from the new technologies.

With this in mind, everyone can embrace the technological shift.

Stay tuned!
