Does this make sense?
Many people are shocked when I present these clinical findings, but we have had hints to this for a long time. A study in the journal Appetite from 2019 found that patients with Anorexia have a specific aversion to eating fat. Metabolomic studies (which take a broad look at your body's overall metabolism) consistently find abnormalities in lipid level. Many of these patients have elevated lipid levels even when the are not restricting. Neuroscientists are able to do very precise genetic manipulations in mice. In 2003, researchers blocked one of these pathways only in the 'feeding' center of the brain and showed that the animals ate less. All of this suggests that the brain somehow intuitively senses when it can not break down fatty acids for energy, which creates a strong aversion to eating fat.
