Does Jesus’ Blood Guarantee Eternal Life?

       If there is something that must be cherished and honoured by all is Blood.  God has spoken and revealed tremendous truth about blood that is beyond human comprehension.  He begins by telling us about the blood of Abel that cried to Him from the ground after being murdered by his brother Cain. He asked Cain, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground.”  Gen. 4:10. How many voices does God hear crying from the ground today?  Instead of moving away from shedding innocent blood, it is like murder sounds a normal thing to some. 

       A couple of days ago, it was reported that a certain man of British descent was arrested in Las Vegas for trying to steal an Police officer’s gun to assassinate a United States presidential hopeful Donald Trump during one of his rallies in the US.  The reporter added that he had been planning this alleged evil for a year.  Isn’t this madness? Improper gun ownership laws continue to rob people of their loved ones everywhere.  This must stop!

      Many accident victims have succumbed to death for lack of blood.  Even if other body members are still functioning properly without blood it becomes null and void.  It is difficult to resuscitate them.  Blood is extremely important in every human system such as Respiratory, Digestive, Nervous, circulatory and Lymphatic depends on it.

     God clearly defined how blood should be handled. "But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.”  Gen. 9.:4.  From the word Go! God’s plan for mankind is that he must honour blood (life).  Murderers together with all evil doers have no room in the Kingdom of God unless they repent.  Gal. 5:19-21.

     He reinforced it by making sure that even in human reproduction system; blood must be present to enable the foetus to develop when fertilization takes place.  There are some who despise women but they have been entrusted with this major component of life.  Since they are the ones charged with bringing new life to this world, the essence is for them to always remember the significance of life and preach this Life for all to be redeemed.

      God commanded Moses to tell the children of Israel to apply blood on their door posts and lintels as sign so that the plague should not affect them.  Ex 12:7. “And the blood shall be for you as a sign on the houses in which ye are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be among you for destruction, when I smite the land of Egypt.”  Ex 12:13

      When I was in my lower primary school I would pass a makeshift slaughter house.  Cows were often slaughtered here.  That was a couple of decades ago, but I hardly forget what I witnessed.  There was a man known as MARABAMA who used to ensure that no blood lands on the ground.  We did not know his origin but as the name suggest, he must have originated from the lake region in the Western part of our country.  There was a Ministry of public Works Centre at Lusui Shopping Centre; in Kakamega County  that hosted workers from other areas of our nation.  He would position his bail and collect every very drop of blood once the butcher executes his work.  He would eventually fix MITURA (huge sausage-like stuff  made from  the same blood and intestines of the slain animal.  After this exercise, all that he needed was to thoroughly roast it under a steady and controlled temperature over charcoal fire to produce his delicacies.  Other spices like chilly and salt would be included.  People would throng his premises to have a bite of the same.

        This business is alive and kicking even in our city estates.   You cannot move several metres before you encounter it.  Anywhere where there is a butchery you will not fail to see this MUTURA business thriving, Their customers range from all genders and ages.  Those of us who understand that eating blood is Biblically illegal should be wise when counseling our pals, otherwise tempers would flare.  Our Lord Jesus declared, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.”  Mt 5:17.  The Old Testament warned us against eating flesh with its blood (Life). It is written, "But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.”  Gen. 9.:4

      Apostle Paul wrote, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 6:23.  In Romans 3:23, he reminds us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  God created man in His own image.  In the same scripture, he mentions blood which reveals that there is some link between His image and blood. Gen. 9:6.  "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”  John 4:24. “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63-NKJV.

      All the sacrifices that were offered in the Temple in Jerusalem and elsewhere by the Jews pointed to the Messiah (Jesus Christ) who would shed His blood for the sin of the world.  He gave us Life through His precious blood.  All those who repent their sins and call on His name obtain Eternal Life. Jesus is the only one who claimed that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.  Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6.

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  John 3:14-16

 Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you acknowledging that I am a sinner, I cannot make it to Heaven without you.  Come into my life and save me now! Please forgive me all sins.  I believe that You died for my sins and justification.  Wash me clean with your precious Blood. Write my name in the Lambs Book of Life.  I now confess that Jesus Christ is now my Lord and Saviour.  Fill me with your Holy Spirit and Power to witness this good news. I will serve you all the days of my life.  In Jesus’ holy name I pray! Amen!
