Imagine dealing with many polygon feature layers representing different geopmgraphic boundaries in the same geodatabase. Without any categorization, you cannot make a difference between administrative boundaries, health zone boundaries, or restricted area boundaries... without such organization (nomenclature), you will only see polygons shape displayed on your map.
