Over the last decade, many technologies became obsolete that we thought would last forever e.g. VCR, tape recorder, floppy disk, typewriter, film camera etc. The list is long. However, I am curious to know the reason for the survival of fax machine. I do not remember the last time I received a fax message. But fax number is still an integral part of the contact details of fortune 500 companies! Any thoughts?

Moreover, a notification message will only be sent if your document has been successfully received and reproduced by the other party correctly. Additionally, fax machines can log and archive previous messages, ensuring that nothing gets lost and that all incoming and outgoing faxes are securely logged and kept in case of emergency. Secondly, and more importantly, since it takes two separate parties accurately reproducing documents in order for a fax to go through, these documents satisfy the requirements of custodianship. No other party can intercept or alter the documents being sent between parties, making these messages legally binding and more secure than documents sent through email. Cheers!
