There is an interesting article in the May 2022 AARP Bulletin Consumer Guide Expert Edition on finding the best real estate agent. Ken Johnson, a real estate economist at Florida Atlantic University's College of Business suggested that only the fittest survive in the real estate business and your best bet is someone with 10+ years of experience. The article stated that an experienced agent can handle surprises that might crop up after you have reached an agreement to sell your home. He said " A seasoned agent knows how to deal with contract issues." There are so many things that can and will go wrong in todays market. As a Realtor who has been in the trenches now for 40 years and counting, I know the benefit of working with an experienced agent. Everything goes smoothly to a successful closing when you are working with trusted professionals who can guide you through every step of the way. A quality Realtor is worth everything you agree to pay them for their services. Otherwise it can be like buying the cheapest bottle of wine and ending up with a headache.
