Researcher Note
After much trial and error, I successfully installed AutoGPT locally.
AutoGPT is a promising next step to what is currently capable with ChatGPT. Where ChatGPT is strong on content, AutoGPT is (relatively) strong on taking a goal input from a user and developing the tasks to get to that goal.
In my experience so far though, AutoGPT has several of the same flaws known to ChatGPT – issues like getting stuck in a seemingly endless loop and hallucinating, focusing on precision rather than accuracy.
That being said, AutoGPT connects directly to the internet and has the ability to create content without a date cutoff, so the tool is incredibly promising beyond what ChatGPT is currently capable of.
