Does AI Have a Future in Talent Acquisition?
Last week we had the pleasure of hosting our first event of 2024, “The Future of AI in Talent Acquisition”. We invited a selection of Talent Acquisition professionals, and arranged a presentation by AI Consulting Group, one of the leaders in Generative AI.
?
The topic was around Generative AI and potential tools we can adapt to use within Talent Acquisition. As a recruiter in Data & AI, I found these topics very interesting, and I am excited to see what the future holds! Also 87% of attendees agreed that AI will be a key part of the role in the near future.
?
The good news for us recruiters is that AI is nowhere near ready to steal our jobs. I have been hearing my job is under threat to AI for 8 years but in my opinion, people will always want the human touch when it comes to hiring decisions and career choices.
?
There are however plenty of elements to our role that we can allow AI to help with to make us more efficient. Here is a snapshot of discussion points and tools available/coming soon:
?
?? Automated CV Ranking – Upload a job description and automatically receive a percentage rating match for each application. You can even choose the most important criteria to review eg. industry experience, technical skills, longevity in role. Integrations to existing ATS/CRM systems are possible too. An absolute life saver for those high application roles!
?
?? Auto Generated Candidate Skills Table – Easily visualise a candidate’s skills that match job with a summary. This can match tech, industry, or anything you want to see with a simple ? or ? grid view.

?? Automatic Email Response with Tailored Feedback – If a candidate doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for a role, you can automate a reply which is tailored to them. For example, “There are other candidates who have more experience with Data Analytics in Financial Services, so we have decided not to proceed with your application at this time”. This at least gives the candidates a response and reason for a rejection and likely a better experience with your company.
?
?? Calendar Integration with Automatics Interview Booking – For the top candidates, AI can book in phone screens or initial meetings. For example, you can customise to meet everyone who is an 80% match or higher.
?
?? AI Phone Screen – This is the next level of AI, automated phone screens. Instead of booking in time with you, AI can schedule a call and ask the initial phone screen questions via a real voice call. As well as recording the answers around location, salary visa and the usual, it can judge articulation and English language skills.
?
Admittedly it will take time to build trust in the technology, but the potential time saving really is game changer! This frees up more time for proactive resourcing and to spend on candidates who need our attention. I understand there will be generational differences in uptake as well as certain roles which will remain human from start to finish. But I hope you can see potential benefit in the advancing AI technology.

Are you interested in hearing more about AI tech? I'd love to hear from you!

Great event Shaun. It’s scary to think what this technology will be able to do in 10-years time ??

1 年Liam Hassell definitely got the party started on discussion, looking forward to the next one. Keen to see more of the integration with talent specific AI as well, which was an eye opener in the second half.
