Does 10,000 hours make you a master at trading?

Does 10,000 hours make you a master at trading?

This is worth considering --> Lots of practice versus the correct practice.

The concept of "10,000 hours of practice" has been popularized in recent years, with the idea being that it takes approximately 10,000 hours of deliberate practice to become an expert in a particular field.

While this idea may apply to some areas like sports and music, in the world of trading, I want to come out and call that out as wrong. I absolutely disagree. It can actually be a very dangerous belief.

One problem with the 10,000 hours concept is that it assumes a linear relationship between practice and performance.

In other words, it suggests that if you put in more practice, you will see a corresponding improvement in your performance. However, this is not necessarily the case. There is a point of diminishing returns when it comes to practice, and it is possible to reach a plateau where additional practice does not result in any further improvement.

It can actually produce the opposite effect.

If you're not practicing the correct things, all you're doing is encoding the wrong behaviours.?

It also ignores the role of natural talent and aptitude. While some people may have a natural ability for trading and may be able to achieve success with less practice than others. Similarly, some people may struggle to become proficient traders no matter how much practice they put in.

So what's more important than 10,000 hours of practice??

A correct focus in the heat of battle. That is how you learn. That is how you train your brain.

When you focus on a task or subject, you are able to devote your full attention and mental energy to it, which allows you to absorb and retain information more efficiently.?

While it’s important to eliminate distractions, take regular breaks, and apply productivity techniques, what would really make a difference is what you are focusing on.

Choosing the right thing to focus on is an important aspect of training your brain and learning effectively. By selecting tasks or subjects that align with your interests and goals, you can maintain your motivation and stay engaged in your learning, and move forward with your long-term goals.

By selecting tasks or subjects that are aligned with your trading goals, you can ensure that your learning efforts are worthwhile and will help you achieve your desired outcomes.

You may also want to seek out opportunities for learning that are challenging but not overwhelming. By finding a balance between challenge and difficulty, you can stay motivated and continue to make progress in your progress.

Don’t forget to have fun

By finding a balance between challenge and difficulty, you can stay motivated and continue to make progress in your learning.

If you enjoy analyzing data and making logical decisions, you may enjoy a more technical approach to trading. On the other hand, if you enjoy following market trends and assessing macroeconomic factors, you may prefer a more fundamental approach. By choosing a trading style that you enjoy, you can stick to it more easily.

Believe it or not, setting specific goals can also make trading enjoyable. In that way, you can track your process and get that sense of accomplishment.?

In summary :

If you want to improve your trading, work out the correct things to practice, don't just blindly practice. And when you work out the correct things to practice, find a way to make it fun, make it enjoyable, and your brain will love you for it. And so will your trading account.
