I speak to a lot of my clients about the importance of documenting your journey on social media vs. content creation. I don’t think I stress it hard enough. The number of pieces of content one has to produce a day to build an expedited relevance on social media is about 50-75 pieces of content a day. You may be saying, “My god, how on earth am I supposed to make that much content daily?” If you’ve read my Guide to Social Media E-book that came with your original email after subscribing, you’d remember there are many ways you can take one piece of content, and share it on many platforms.
I want you to think about the documentation aspect of your social media however. What it creates, is a building of transparency into who you are as a person. For those who aren’t egotistical, or romantic in putting on a facade, it’s easy to just be yourself on camera. Look at it like this, it’s easier to document your natural personality, than it is to be someone completely fake. Over time, your audience will know exactly who you are. Reinforce this by being completely transparent and honest with your audience. Let your audience know what your goals are, what you are trying to achieve daily, or maybe share your five year goal. Apps like TikTok and Clapper are fantastic avenues to take, where you can test your strategy just by being you! And, it’s free!
