Doctoral Programs with Research Opportunities at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL)

The Bredesen Center at the University of Tennessee (UTK) is now offering three doctoral programs that provide research opportunities at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

With five years of guaranteed funding, graduate students in Bredesen Center programs perform interdisciplinary research by joining both ORNL and UTK teams focused on diverse sets of challenges related to energy and applied data sciences. Graduate coursework specializing in a variety of fields is complemented by studies in policy, entrepreneurship, economics and outreach to broaden research skills and experiences.

The three doctoral programs include:

• Energy Science & Engineering - focused on science and engineering challenges related to the production, distribution, and consumption of energy.
• Data Science & Engineering - focused on a core data science curriculum while specializing in a domain science field of research.
• Genome Science and Technology - focused on whole-genome sequences and related large-scale data and advances in technology.
