"Doctor, the patient's website traffic has flatlined!"

I recently did a website traffic analysis for a contact of mine and when I first looked at the traffic I saw that it was low, but I didn't have a frame of reference until I included the competitors.
If you look at the image above you could think that the traffic has leveled out and is climbing. Therefore you could think that the website will be doing well. However, in this case the average level of monthly traffic is less that 100 visitors, and has been at that level for the bulk of two years.
If the average website converts at half of one percent to a high of two percent then this business will only receive a maximum of 2 leads per month. We know not all leads are amazing, so the numbers are just too low to get traction for teh business.
When I added the competitors to the analysis a dramatic picture emerged.
If you examine the image above, the company I was researching is represented by the blue line that hugs the X axis of the graph. Compared to the two competitors it appears as if the website traffic has flatlined. When I spoke to my contact and asked how long he had worked with the current marketing agency, he said 2+ years. Now organic SEO marketing takes 9-14 months to reach maturity, however after 2+ years with the same agency I feel it's time to change agencies and get the paddles out to revive the patient (website.)
