Do Your Best!

Preaching the "Old Time" Gospel, Helping Pastors & Churches, KJV, Local Church,
Today, I want to encourage you to do your best. The Bible says, in Matthew 25:15, That God gave “to every man according to his ability.”We all have different abilities. We can learn more & try to improve on ourselves & what we do.
God created each of us different & unique; He has a specific purpose for your life & He gives to us according to our ability. Your best is not someone else’s best, but do your best. In the Bible, a boy gave his lunch of 5 loaves & 2 fishes. Didn’t seem like much at the time.
However, God used it to feed 5,000 and still gather 12 baskets of leftovers. God took, what we may feel is insignificant, and made it work. Whatever your job is, give it your best. Ask the Lord’s help, each & every day.
On the ball field, a player may give 110% of himself - just to earn an extra yard or to make a diving catch & the crowd cheers. The crowd may not cheer for you or me, but God’s Word teaches us that if we give our best, God will reward and bless us. Colossians 3:23: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
There is also the reward in knowing that you did your best. As you start each day, ask the Lord to help you. During the day, when you face problems, why not take a moment to ask the Lord to help you & guide you. Do your best, even if your fellow workers do not.
Another aspect of this is: Ephesians 5:15-16, Col 3:23 “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Make best use of your time. The word “redeem” = “to buy back” “ransom” “ rescue.”
We are to “rescue” our time from being wasted. Your time, spent with family, spouse, children & grand children, is never wasted.
When you spend time with them, you build lasting relationships and your life can be used as a valuable tool in molding and shaping the lives of your children & grand children; they are precious. Time can also be used wisely in doing good for others. Spending your time wisely at work can enable you to do a better job and hopefully have less stress.
We only have one life to live, give it your best; use your time wisely; be your best for the Lord.
