Do you and your organisation have the knowledge

Given the recent highly publicised scandals regarding the abuse of restraint, delivering restraint free care is a major focus for provider services within the education, health and social care sectors.

Where restraint is used, there is a clear expectation that such practices are not misused or abused and organisations have well-governed, transparent processes in place to ensure the care, welfare and safety of its' people (users and staff) is maintained.

Key to achieving this involves strong, dynamic leadership and a highly skilled workforce which has the necessary knowledge and skills, values and attitudes to deliver truly person-centred support.

The BSc in Restraint Reduction is delivered in partnership with Wolverhampton University and offers individuals the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills, to develop their understanding of the research and evidence-base and meet other like-minded professionals to share practice. As well as expanding individuals professional development, completing the BSc enables individuals to make a significant and positive impact within their employing organisations by shaping practice and support colleagues to deliver restraint free services.
